RIP Carrie Fisher :(
Today the second round gallery was revealed in Lilla Rogers' Global Talent Search and it is AMAZING!! We were asked to design the cover of a dessert cookbook. I knew right away that I wanted to have a birdseye perspective looking over a table filled with desserts, the fortune telling cups from the first round, a variety of patterned dishes, doilies, flowers and a dash of gold. Lilla gave us the option to draw people but I opted to draw hands instead. I can draw people but they seem more appropriate for artwork geared towards kids. This assignment was so fun.
Note to self: Make more food illustrations.
Voting is open to the public for round two: You can cast your vote for your five faves here.
Yay!!! I am so thrilled to announce that my fortune telling cup made it into the semi-finals of the Global Talent Search!!! They chose 50 participants out of 1,000 to go to next round.
You can see the top 50 here.
Truth: I am afraid of the ocean... Unreasonably so. Jaws is to blame.
It hasn't stopped me from loving buoys though!
I have added a few more states to my Summer State Project.
Nevada: Home to the Mountain Bluebird, Sagebrush and the Single-Leaf Pinyon. #summerstateproject
I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be featured as an alumni success ‘spotlight’ on the Make Art That Sells website! I have said this a million times and I say it again in the interview but the MATS courses have totally changed my life. If you're considering taking one of Lilla's classes... Do it!
Here's a funny story, this interview was published while I was at Surtex (thanks to these courses) and I missed it until now!
