I was lucky to work on this magical book earlier this year for Running Press. Here are a few of my favorite spreads from, "The Practical Witch's Spell Book" written by Cerridwen Greenleaf and illustrated by me, Mara Penny.
Yay!!! I am so thrilled to announce that my fortune telling cup made it into the semi-finals of the Global Talent Search!!! They chose 50 participants out of 1,000 to go to next round.
You can see the top 50 here.
I like to challenge myself to make quick little pieces of art specifically for Instagram.
Oftentimes they're inspired by a song but it really could be anything.
I never know if I should post them to my portfolio or not since they're just a quick fun exercise.
It's like posting sketchbook pages.
What do you think? Yay or Nay to posting these fun and fast instagram pieces in my portfolio?
I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be featured as an alumni success ‘spotlight’ on the Make Art That Sells website! I have said this a million times and I say it again in the interview but the MATS courses have totally changed my life. If you're considering taking one of Lilla's classes... Do it!
Here's a funny story, this interview was published while I was at Surtex (thanks to these courses) and I missed it until now!
Each season every member of my collective, Finch + Foxglove, make a new finch image. Here's my summer finch. She's a Gold Finch. I think she's a pretty bird.
Sweet dreams winter, see you next year.
I just finished up an intense five week class taught by two ultra amazing ladies, Lilla Rogers and Margo Tantau. The image above are a few of my favorite pieces that I designed over the course. I was inspired by a recent trip to Versailles and wanted to create a more modern livable version of that. The class was broken down into the five major substrates used in home decor. We concentrated on a new substrate each week. I'll break the boards down in subsequent posts.
